Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest

Matthew 11:28

I love how simple this invitation is.

There’s no fine print. No checklist. No sense that you need to get yourself together first. It’s just…come.

And most of us are carrying more than we even realize. Responsibility. Expectations. Worry. That quiet pressure to hold everything together.

We carry it for so long that it starts to feel normal, and we forget what rest even feels like.

What I love about this is that Jesus doesn’t tell us to try harder or manage things better. He doesn’t offer a strategy. He just invites us to come.

So here’s a small invitation for today.

Take a moment and notice what you’ve been carrying. Not to judge it. Not to fix it.
Just to name it.

And then (if only for a moment), imagine setting it down. Let rest start with permission, not performance.

Rest isn’t something you earn once everything is done. It’s something you’re invited to receive along the way.

You’re doing better than you think. And remember, you don’t have to have it all figured out today.

A Place to Reflect Together

I’m building a women-only Patreon community for those who want more than reading alone. It’s a space for thoughtful conversation, shared reflection, and encouragement as we walk with God together. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, I’d love to have you there.
